Africa Dynamic Development Group (ADG) Learner Support Policy
Effective Date: 6 November 2025
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to outline the comprehensive support system available to all learners enrolled with Africa Dynamic Development Group (ADG). We are committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and responsive learning environment that empowers every learner to successfully complete their chosen program and achieve their full potential.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all learners enrolled in any ADG training program, whether delivered online or in-person.
3. Policy Statement
At ADG, we believe that learner success is a shared responsibility. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible support that addresses academic, technical, and pastoral needs. We encourage learners to actively engage with their studies and to seek help whenever they need it.
4. Our Learner Support Framework
We offer a multi-layered support system designed to assist you throughout your learning journey.
4.1. Academic Support
This support is designed to help you with the course content and your assessments.
- Primary Contact: Your first point of contact for any questions about the course material, concepts, or assignments is your course Facilitator/Instructor.
- How to Access: You can contact your facilitator during class, during designated breaks, or via the communication channels provided for your course (e.g., email, LMS forums).
- Escalation: For more significant academic concerns, you may contact the Training Manager.
4.2. Technical Support
This support is for any issues you experience with our e-learning platform or digital tools.
- Primary Contact: All technical support queries should be directed to the Training Manager, at Ilse.vanniekerk@adss.co.za.
- Service Standard: We acknowledge that technical issues can be disruptive. We will acknowledge your technical support query within 24 hours and will work to resolve the issue within 3 working days.
4.3. Support for Learners with Disabilities
ADG is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment for all learners. If you have a disability or a condition that may affect your learning, we encourage you to contact us.
- Confidential Discussion: You can request a confidential discussion with the Training Manager to discuss your specific needs and the support that may be available.
- Reasonable Adjustments: We are committed to making “reasonable adjustments” to our learning materials and assessment methods where possible. This may include providing materials in alternative formats or allowing additional time for assessments under specific conditions.
4.4. Pastoral and Wellbeing Support
While ADG is not a counselling service, we are concerned for your overall wellbeing. If you are facing personal challenges that are affecting your studies, please speak to us. We can provide a listening ear and, where appropriate, provide information on how to access professional support services.
5. Support for Different Learning Modes
- In-Person Training: Support is readily available through direct interaction with your facilitator and fellow learners during the training session.
- Online Learning: Support is provided through digital channels, including email and dedicated forums within the Learner Management System. We aim to respond to all academic and technical queries within 48 hours.
6. Proactive Support
We don’t wait for you to ask for help. We actively monitor learner engagement to identify and support those who may be struggling.
- Assessment Feedback: If a learner is not yet competent on an assessment, the feedback provided will include clear guidance on the areas for improvement and an offer of support from the facilitator.
7. Responsibilities
- The Learner’s Responsibility: To actively engage with the course material, seek help early when needed, and communicate any issues that may affect their studies.
- ADG’s Responsibility: To provide accessible, professional, and timely support services; to treat all requests for support with empathy and confidentiality; and to continuously improve our support systems based on learner feedback.
