Africa Dynamic Development Group (ADG) Health and Safety Policy

Effective Date: 5 November 2025

1. Purpose

Africa Dynamic Development Group (ADG) is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees, contractors, and learners. This policy outlines our commitment to preventing work-related injuries and illnesses by proactively managing health and safety risks in all our operations, in compliance with the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) No. 85 of 1993.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all ADG employees, contractors, and learners. It covers all activities performed on our company premises at 37 Harlekyne Street, Reynoridge, and extends to all work performed by our staff at client sites, including audits, inspections, and HSE improvement projects.

3. Policy Statement

At ADG, we believe that the well-being of our people is of paramount importance. All work activities will be planned and conducted with safety as the primary consideration. ADG is dedicated to creating a culture where every individual takes responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.

4. Responsibilities

4.1. Managing Director
The Managing Director has ultimate responsibility for health and safety within ADG. He will ensure this policy is implemented, that resources are provided for safety, and will fulfill the duties of the Health and Safety Representative for the company.

4.2. All Employees
Every employee has a personal responsibility to:

  • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety.
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by their actions.
  • Comply with all health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately.
  • Participate in health and safety training.

4.3. Learners
All learners are required to follow all health and safety instructions provided by ADG staff and to adhere to the safety rules of the training venue.

5. Risk Assessment and Management

  • Our Premises: Formal, documented risk assessments will be conducted for our training venue and office environment. These assessments will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary.
Client Sites: Prior to commencing work at a client site, ADG will review the client’s health and safety documentation. Upon arrival, our staff will conduct a basic site-specific assessment to identify any immediate risks to their own safety and will take appropriate precautions.

6. Incident Reporting

All incidents, including accidents, injuries, and near-misses, must be reported immediately.

  • Initial Notification: An initial report can be made through established communication channels, such as the designated company WhatsApp group.
Formal Reporting: This must be followed by the completion of the official ADG Incident Investigation Form. All incidents will be investigated to determine the root cause and prevent recurrence.

7. Emergency Procedures

ADG has documented emergency procedures for fire, medical emergencies, and other potential incidents.

Designated employees are trained in first aid. The location of first aid boxes is clearly marked and their contents are regularly maintained.
Emergency evacuation plans are displayed, and emergency drills will be conducted at regular intervals to ensure all staff are familiar with the procedures.

8. Working at Client Sites

The safety of our staff when working off-site is our highest priority.

  • Compliance with Client Rules: All ADG staff are required to comply strictly with the client’s site-specific health and safety rules, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Right to Stop Work: Any ADG employee has the authority and responsibility to stop any work if they believe the conditions are unsafe or pose an imminent risk to their health or the health of others. This decision will be fully supported by ADG management without fear of reprisal.
  • Reporting: Any safety concerns identified at a client site must be reported immediately to the ADG Managing Director.
